Derek Stark died peacefully at home in Oxford on 13th April, surrounded by his family
I have received this message from Anne Stark:
It is with great regret that we are writing to inform you that Derek died on Thursday 13th April 2023. He died peacefully at home with all his close family around him. We feel fortunate that he had another year of good quality life after his diagnosis of bowel cancer and only a short terminal decline. We shall all miss him very much.
For those of you who may be interested and available to attend, the funeral details are as follows:
Tuesday 2nd May 2023 funeral service at 11 am
at St Swithun’s Church, The Avenue, Kennington, Oxford, OX1 5PL
The cremation will take place later at the South Oxfordshire Crematorium to be attended by close family members.
We are having family flowers only. If you would like to make a donation, Derek’s chosen charity is the RNLI. Also, Sobell House who provided wonderful care in the last week of his life. We have set up a much-loved web page at https://derek-stark.muchloved.com/ in order to make it easy to donate online. You can also post pictures and memories at this website.
