I deeply regret to report that Dave Johnson died shortly after 3 PM this afternoon, 20th October, at Massachusetts General Hospital. Following a long illness, he declined quickly in the last week, and had volunteered for a last-ditch clinical trial. He died peacefully with his wife Kathy at his side.

My dear friend and colleague since the 1980s, one of the great scientists of Schlumberger, David Linton Johnson, died today, in Boston MA.
The loss of Dave greatly saddens me. And my heart goes out to his wife Kathy Martin.

Dave was not a member of the Alliance, but he was a great friend and colleague of many Alliance members.

David Linton Johnson, American Theoretical physicist. Fellow American Physical Society, was born in 1945 in Chicago and joined Schlumberger Doll Research in 1976. Research Gate lists 67 publications by him.
