BEEWASP – BBQ Event for Ex Western Australia Slb People
Our annual event for a remote group of ex SLB people, many retirees, took place this 14th November 2023.
There we joined the many staff members for lunch and were then given an interesting explanatory presentation that brought us up-to-date on slb activities both globally and in the Australasian and Papua New Guinea Unit – APG (which covers about 1/6th of the earth’s surface).
Finally some local groups are forming in larger cities. Perth being so remote and a retiree haven sports it own totally informal group that gathers annual. The format is the simplest possible with one retiree offering to communicate via our email list the location of the next gathering which is at 3pm on the second Tuesday of November each year. There is no admin – just an announcement to Bring Your Own (BYO) food and drink. We BBQ it in one of the 40 public facilities in our area. Our weather is usually superb for such an outdoor event.
Thats the meaning of the strange name we call our group = BEEWASP = Bbq Event for Ex Western Australian Slb People.
