Claude Jeanblanc on September 19th 2020

23 Sep, 2020 | Obituary

We are sorry to be advised by Louis Morin that Claude Jeanblanc passed away on September 18th 2020 in Massy, France;  he had been quite ill for some years.
The religious ceremony will take place on Friday 25th September at 15h00 at the church of The Assomption de la Tres, Sainte Vierge de Verrieres-Le-Bouisson (91370).
Claude was a legend in his time and well known to many of our members especially in technical support within wireline.
He attended the Wireline Palustran Training School in 1963 and spent many years throughout Africa, Europe, Middle East and Asia, before his final 6 year at Clamart, France, until 1996.

From Louis Morin:

NO FLOWERS OR WREATHS , but a donation to Hôpital Jacques CARTIER,  MASSY would be welcome on account of the attention and dedication of all the entire healthcare team over the past four to five weeks.

From John Pease:

To the family of Claude,
I was deeply sorry to have just read of Claude’s death and would like you to know how much he meant to me.
Two days after joining Schlumberger in Paris I met Claude in Den Haage, Holland on 25th March 1973 at the start of NTC-6.  He was inspirational. There were 6 of us and his first message was sobering, ‘ You will have a test every Monday morning and if you do not reach 65% you will be out’. It was a wake-up call and required far more study than I had ever done before. I thrived on the challenge, did well in the school, and went on to enjoy my career with the company. He embodied the culture of Schlumberger which I strived to emulate for the next 20 years. I appreciated his intellect, his directness, and his cartoons.
He was head and shoulders above any teacher or lecturer I have had and it was my privilege, to know him.
Please accept my deepest condolences,
