John “Jack” Kluepfel passed away after a lengthy struggle against cancer on 22nd October at his home hospice in Houston. He was able to maintain contact with many of his Schlumberger friends right to the end. He was a mentor for many people in the Personnel Management function throughout the oilfield and industrial segments of the corporation.
He will be remembered for his smile and sense of humor in the face of difficulty.

Jack spent 30 years with Schlumberger, becoming head of HR for SWS (North America Oilfield) and then Global Director of Compensation & Benefits at Schlumberger, based out of Sugar Land, Texas until his retirement in 2009 (following which he continued to provide HR consulting service).

His obituary is available at https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/sugar-land-tx/john-kluepfel-11507471

Jack’s funeral will be held at St. Laurence Catholic Church, Sugar Creek, on 2nd November.

While Jack was not a member of ALLIANCE Schlumberger he will be known and missed by many of us.
