Alan Harding passed away quietly on 22nd January in Stavanger, Norway, following a short battle with cancer which he faced bravely. His sense of humour was strong to the end and will never be forgotten.
Advised by his wife Tove Harding. Alan and Tove had attended several of our reunions, their most recent one being Chester in 2018. There will be a family funeral service in Stavanger on 31 January.
Alan joined Schlumberger Wireline in 1971, initially in Great Yarmouth, UK followed shortly by Aberdeen before moving to Stavanger in 1972 – the year Statoil was created and one year after the first Norwegian oil came ashore. Several assignments in Africa followed before Alan left the company in 1978, remaining working in the oil industry primarily between Aberdeen and Norway.
Alan is survived by Tove, their 3 married children and several grandchildren.
