Maurice Carl Jenkins, always know as Carl, passed away in Australia on February 27th 2026, aged 87

Maurice was British but retired ti Australia in late 1970s. He was a cousin of the actor Antony Hopkins and ran English language courses for Indonesian, Japanese and Korean recruits.

Carl joined Schlumberger Wireline in 1959 with training school in Paris. He worked extensively across Middle East, Europe, Asia and Africa, staying in Australia and Indonesia from 1970 and retiring in Sale, Australia in 1976, though he continued to do periodic work for Schlumberger until 2004.
